I have always been interested in the old "naturalist" style of botanical studies. This hibiscus was done on a plane trip to Tucson. The turbulence didn't cause too many unwanted lines.
Hi Dick. Thank you for visiting my blog. It's so reassuring when some one new comes along and takes the time to comment. I'm enjoying your blog but I can see you're not a prolific poster. Maybe I can persuade you to post more often as your sketches are charming. You have a delicate style. Love the hibiscus and the way you've cross-hatched that corner.
Thank you both for the nice comments. I know I should post more, but life seems to get in the way. As winter deepens, I think I'll have more time for this. IT's a least a good goal.:-)
I share your affection for that style of botanical study, Dick. And you did a great job with your hibiscus page. It really does make you appreciate the flower more to draw it, doesn't it?

Good to see you again! This flower study is amazing ... the shading in the leaves is perfect.
Happy Holidays!
